In the fall of 2023 I was asked to make a bowl for my alma mater the University of Southern Maine to commemorate the loss of one of their great Copper Beech trees.

Due to drying time and production schedules I was not able to make the bowl until 2025. I signed the bottom with the dates of the tree’s birth and death and my production date.

I hope that I did justice to a peice of wood that has seen 220 years of history.
